FAQ’s

What do you need from me before my appointment?

You will need to fill out the intake form that will be send to you electronically via email.  If you complete it online I will receive it as soon as you submit it.  If you prefer to print it out and fill it in by hand, then you can either drop the form off at the clinic or send via express post, or scan and email it back to me, or bring it in at your appointment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How do I get my paperwork to you?

You can scan your documents and email them as a PDF format.  Some clients prefer to take images of their blood test results on their phone and email it which is an option if you don’t have a scanner.  In this case email to office@MTHFRandBeyond.com.au or office@elizmalambert.com.  You can also fax them through to the clinic at (07) 3806 1012.  Just remember to write ‘Elizma’ on top of the first page.  If you need to find another option feel free to contact me so we can come up with a plan that works for both of us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Where do I find the intake forms?

These will be send out to you automatically once you’ve booked an appointment.  You can also find them here in the bottom right hand corner.

I'm finding it hard to complete the online intake form
If for some reason the online intake form is not working for you, or you have trouble with the questions, or maybe you feel the questions do not tell the full story of what you are experiencing, then feel free to write me a narrative describing your health journey and using a timeline to indicate when you started feeling sick and moments of change along the way.  Also provide a list of any supplements or prescription medication you may be on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I need a bit more information

If you would like to first speak to me before making a commitment you can book a free once-off 15 minute consultation with me by sending me a message at Contact Me.  This provides an opportunity for us both to decide whether we would like to work together and set realistic expectations.  When you are ready to book in just go to Book an Appointment and choose the service you would like to have.  Or just organize an appointment after the 15 minute consultation.

 

Be aware that no lab tests or gene reports will be discussed during this 15 minutes.

Do you provide support in between consultations?

If you have specific questions or just need to have a quick conversation with me then book in for a quick 25 minute consultation via phone or skype.  If it can wait until your next appointment then write your questions down so you don’t forget.  If it is urgent then book in for a follow-up appointment.

Otherwise, Michelle and Cheryl (my friendly staff) at office@MTHFRandBeyond.com.au will provide support where they can.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do you charge for email correspondence?

If it’s a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer and no more than 3 questions, then it’s not a problem.

Make sure you structure your emails with information on what’s being treated for, the supplements/medications your are currently taking, whether you are feeling better or worse, and your Q.

I receive a stack of emails on a daily basis and although all my clients are special to me, I simply cannot remember everyone’s health plans.  The easier you make it for me, the quicker you’ll get your answer.

More often it requires me to go back into your files or do additional research which takes time away from my family and other paying clients, so unfortunately this is time I need to be compensated for.  In this case you can book in for a quick 25 minute consultation (via phone or skype) or as a follow-up appointment.  Make sure you have all your questions ready.

 

 

 

 

I don't live in Queensland and not even in Australia. Can I still make use of your services?

Absolutely!  I see a number of clients that live interstate or overseas that I communicate with over skype.  Go to ‘Become a Client’ on the navigation bar and click on ‘Skype Appointments‘ to learn more about this process.

 

Do you provide written reports?

At this point I am not writing reports for consultations, simply because I am too busy.  Any spare time I do have I like to put into research, training other practitioners to help people like you, and keeping up to date in order to serve you better, instead of doing more paperwork.  It also helps to keep consultation fees as low as possible.

I do however provide you with a Health Plan containing information on supplements and dosages, as well as extra information where needed, and a recording where applicable (if technology doesn’t let us down and when requested).  This saves you money in the long run as you can listen to my explanation at any time and don’t have to book another appointment to get it explained all over again if you forget.

If you still want a written health report you can discuss this with me, but I will have to charge extra for this.

I'm already seeing someone else/I am a practitioner, and need help with test interpretations.

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

Whether you are a practitioner struggling with a 23andme report, or have had functional tests done by a practitioner that has not given you a satisfactory interpretation.  There is a section in the booking system for ‘Test Interpretations and Mentoring‘ where you can make use of this service.

For practitioners it is ideal as you receive an interpretation on test results you may not be very familiar with, which enables you to get a treatment plan together for you client quickly, and also learn along the way.

 

  • You receive a recording of the conversation (if technology doesn’t fail us and if requested) to listen to again.
  • No treatment plans are provided.  This is simply an expert interpretation.
  • Under ALL circumstances clients will be deferred back to their practitioners for treatment.  I maintain a trusting and respectful relationship with my colleagues.  This service is to enhance client care, teach along the way, and not to be another ‘cook in the kitchen’ when it comes to treatment.
  • If you are not under anyone’s expert care, then we can discuss continuing a client-practitioner relationship if this is your desire.
Do you mentor or provide internships for other practitioners?

Yes.

After multiple requests both nationally and internationally I decided to make this option available.  It will depend on the time frame you are looking at and my availability when determining costs.

When you travel to consult and lecture all over the world, I struggle to get in with you. What do I do?

I apologize that my time is so divided between everything.

As most of you know, I do provide SKYPE days during my travels to keep in contact with you.  But sometimes this isn’t enough.

I have a great nutritionist, Rebecca Baldry, on board who is going to help us all in this regard.  She is someone I’ve worked with for 15 or so years and whom I have great trust in.  Some of you will already be familiar with her as she works out many complex meal plans for those with lots of intolerances.

She thinks similarly to me, works similarly to me, and I’ve trained her well, which is why I chose her.  During my travels, or anytime when I’m too busy, you are more than welcome to book in with her.  She will gather all your information and discuss it with me BEFORE formulating your treatment plan.  You will be effectively getting treatment by TWO practitioners.  At no time do you change practitioners.

Rebecca will simply be gathering the information when I do not have time, discuss it with me, both of us giving our opinions, and then writing up the treatment plan.

It will always be your choice whether you want to make use of this service, but it will be there for you if you wish.

There is also the option of an email consultation for follow-ups.  The price is the same for whichever service you need (which is explained on the calendar), but this allows you to email your questions, and for me to go through your test results (if applicable) and previous information and reformulate your health plan and send it to you.  It is also convenient for those who cannot find a time that suits them or have to wait for an extended period of time to get in with me.  Usually allow for 2 days to get the information back to you from the appointment date.

I'm very keen to learn more. This has been a long journey for me and I read up on everything. Do you have courses available that may teach me more?

Absolutely, yes!

If you go to OATcourses.com you will find courses on there.  In the beginning there may not be that much there, but we are planning to add more as we go along.
